I am also a recipient of the Making it Happen Award, and was the National Teacher Training Institute Teacher of the Year in 1997.

I earned my PhD in Curriculum from the University of Kansas.

I have worked with the University of Kansas, ePals, ALTEC, Baker University, Blue Valley School District, and Kansas City Public Television. My career highlights include presentations at national and regional conferences, such as NECC, NSBA T+L, NSDC, National Association of Elementary School Principals, Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education, Kansas Annual Conference, and Mid America Computers in Education. I was the senior project coordinator of the Title IID initiative in Kansas.

    Kari:
I have a question about ePals on the Empowered Desktop. Kan Ed shows the students advanced to the next class from last year and that I have 4th grade students. However, ePals hasn't advanced our students, so I did that manually though it doesn't list my 3rd graders as they were entered this school year. Any suggestions or do I need to manually enter those students into ePals?

    Hi Dr. Stubbs,

If you're interested to get a bit more online synchronously with your ePal students I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom. I also recommend you take a look at authorstream's power point presentation platform, it could prove useful if students want to put a power point on the web ePal memebers to view. Anyhow, both are web based, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
