Hello Gayla, I am not really a classroom2 guru, just a welcoming host. So I dont know how much my suggestions would be of use to you. But I will have a go at some. I really like the "Your web2.0 Review Series" that Steve Hargaddon starts. They have covered a lot of the well tried web2.0 tools with summaries from teachers who have experimented with them. See the podcasting one Another on blogging Many teachers have their own blogging url and only use classroom2 intermittently. I know that I am one of them. I like Susan T's page as it has lots of multimedia on it. The discussion on twitter is an important one as this would allow newcomers quick access to a personal learning network. Let's share links to our blogs has been another huge discussion. I know that the digiskills groups leader works really hard at welcoming and updating its members all the time. Hope there is something here for you to use and all the best with your presentation.
Thanks, I appreciate you giving a demo of Edmodo. Unfortunately I can't give you access to examples of any of our groups without consulting teachers first as our groups are private. We take privacy very seriously. I would suggest putting the word out on twitter & in our edmodo group inside edmodo to see if any teachers want to help out and share examples with you. I would take a look at the following to start with:
Do you know how to change the Youtube file format to a renamed format that you can use at school? Go to Zamzar and change the video from youtube to a different format. They will email you the new file name. Was that at all clear? You Tue is not blocked in my school and i still couldnt get the video on ning.
I couldn't get the ning ones to work either. Is there a reason you can't use it on YouTube or TeacherTube? If you specifically want it in ning, then use zamzar to change the youtube video to a file format that will work on ning and add it to your blog. Email Steve Hardogon and see if he can "fix" the problem Let me know if you get desperate and I'll help get it to somewhere you can use it. N
Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Texas.
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
