Hi. I'm the Chief Academic Officer for the Jesuit Virtual Learning Academy, a collective of Jesuit prep schools across the nation. I'm also active in languages and presently chair the Central States Conference for Teachers of Foreign Languages. In my spare time, I was recently elected to Omaha's community college board of governors.

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
Do you mind telling students and your colleagues again?
With your work in Education Technology at Jesuit, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Nebraska, though from the looks of your position you likely have reach beyond that.
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Am going to propose a session next year on "Differentiation using Social Networking and other 2.0 approaches" Any thoughts? Really want to hear what you're doing. Not sure of holiday plans yet. Going on a short cruise to Cozumel over T'giving.
Hey Steve,
Really sorry we didn't have a chance to take some time and catch up. I'm putting up the session on my website today if you want to take a look you should be able to find it. www.twelchconsulting.com
Let's find some time to exchange ideas. Have some really exciting ideas (besides those I mentioned in the session). Want to find out what you are doing.
Yes. Looking forward to the meeting. WIll be arriving a bit early for NCSSFL and then the conference. Doing one session. Maybe you can get to it. You know it'll be "out there" (G)

This is the kind of professional development I imagined for the JVLA and the JSEA network.

Hope our paths cross soon.
