Hello Vivek Welcome to classroom20. Although I am economics trained, I have never taught the subject. Instead, I have been lucky to teach information technology(computers) and accounting. It looks like you have already made some valuable connections in this classroom.

Thanks for introducing yourself. I encourage you to browse the sections of http://www.tutormentorconnection.org. I've been networking with a growing number of people from India and some of my technology projects have been developed by volunteers from India who now live in the US.

You'll see that we're creating maps showing where poverty is concentrated in Chicago, and pointing to organizations who already operate and are in constant search of dollars, volunteers, ideas, technology. We're using advertising-based principles to try to connect those programs with needed resources, while also providing information that other groups could use to create new programs in areas where none now exist.

Much of the information on the site could be used in any city in the world. It just needs a local leader, or intermediary, to connect local users with the information, and to create local data of existing NGOs working with youth.
