Hi Alice,
I am doing some research regarding blogging platforms for teachers/students in our district. I read in a discussion form here (from way back in 2007) that you were using Edublogs. Are you still? Are you happy with it? Have you since started having students have their own blogs? Finally, have you found it slow or is it just me? Any insight you can provide would be most appreciated. Thank you! Kimberly

Hi Alice. I was wondering if you have students or educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

I am relatively new here. I am from Ghana and I'm just here to learn, contribute as well as link up with like-minded people who will be willing to share their experiences as well as help in spreading the concept of distance learning and adult education to Africa, which lags behind as far as education is concerned. My company has developed a television program called 'ADULTS IN EDUCATION' which is used in teaching, especially adults, how to read and write as well as general tips on how to take care of oneself. We also treat social issues as well. Television is still the widest means of disseminating information here in Ghana

Okay, now that I have your attention, I’ll point you to this post http://www.speedofcreativity.org/2007/04/20/margaret-spellings-is-under-fire/ from guest blogger Scott McLeod on Wes Fryer’s “Moving at the Speed of Creativity” (not faster than the average 6 month old if Spellings has her way, I guess).

Scott lists all…

Elementary Blogging

Well, I'm starting to see more web 2.0 sites getting blocked in my district. PB Wiki (which I used for a project with my kids) is not accessible. I'm looking at some other tools to see how to incorporate them in my classroom.

There are two tools I've seen recently that have different strengths (and weaknesses):

1. Tumblr.com: a REALLY simple an intuitive blog interface. I would LOVE an interface like this for student blogs.

2. 21 classes: Recommended by Will Richardson.…
