I was a secondary teacher (English Drama and a bit of Society and Environment) in the 1980s and 90s. I currently work as a librarian in a university. Part of my current role is as reference librarian, assisting students off campus with their information queries and in the use of the complex online resources offered by the university library. I hope by undertaking my Masters that I will develop skills to help me find work in delivering education in the online environment.

Alison, we do have daylight savings time, which the helpful site you found (thanks!) takes into account. So the 8:30 time is fine on Saturday, if that works for you. I have to leave for baseball at 9:30, but it shouldn't take us too long to chat briefly. Thanks again for agreeing to do this! What's your Skype id?
Yippee! I'm so excited! I am at your beck and call here, since you have kindly agreed to help me. I am certainly available this weekend--tell me what time will work for you and I will work around your schedule. My boys have baseball games on Saturday morning, so that will tie me up from 10am-2pm EST. I'm terrible about converting time differences, but I think that means I will be busy from 9pm-1am your time. I could meet before that, though--and I can also talk with you from work in the mornings on occasion. Let me know what works for you, and thank you so much for responding to my request!
I am a member of Classroom 2.0 and I also taught secondary English in the past. Currently, I am a graduate student in the New Media and Global Education program at Appalachian State University. I am enrolled in my final class, which is Web 2.0 and Social Media, and as part of one of my assignments, I am supposed to either meet someone in person who I have "met" online (not thrilled with this option)) or Skype with someone in another country who I have met online. To that end, I looked you up under members and thought I'd give this a try, uncomfortable as I am with contacting a complete stranger this way. My email address is lessouth@yahoo.com and my Skype id is lessouth. Please let me know if you would be willing to do this. I just have to use the video feature to record part of our conversation and blog about it. In return, I would be happy to help you with anything in your program!
