My interests include digital photography, web 2.0, drawing , ceramics, bicycling, backpacking, and reading murder mysteries(i dont think this is related to my profession, but I wonder sometimes!) I am also sponsor of chess club, art club and the senior class at my school.

Just finished a punishing 2 weeks developing a moodle set up for my Multimedia I and have turned the whole thing in for grading YIPPEE! I have approximately 12 days of summer vacation left and am headded back up into the mountains. Hopefully we will see some more hummingbirds.

This time of year always gets to me, even though I have gotten alot done as far as learning new 2.0 technologies I always have bigger dreams and not enough… Continue

Ahhh! Vacation Eye Candy for January

I played hookey from summer school! I know I'll need to look at this in January (the month that never ends in Nebraska). Coming back I have a bunch of unedited photos, 2 moodle courses about half done, a new college class assigned, and no personal artwork. What I did get done is a good long look at web 2.0 applications, some good, lots clunky or underperforming.

The Good?

VoiceThread, Timetoast, Moodle(sometimes), Google sites &… Continue

Hi Ann!

Happy New Year! I was wondering if you, your educator contacts, or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Nebraska!

You can view contest details at Please let me know. Thanks!

I want to hear about how things are going for you this year. After a rocky start with the online program things are going really well. There are still some issues (some big, some not so big) to work through. Let me know if you are ever headed up here and we can meet for lunch or coffee.

Unbelieveable! A fellow Nebraskan!!! I teach for ESU#13 and I am based out of Scottsbluff. I see your name come up all of the time when I am working on my Moodle classes. Nice to meet you. My unofficial mentor, Cory Plough, started a new group in here for online/hybrid model educators. I am busy posting some thought provoking questions this morning to get the ball rolling. I think he called it "Online Educators."

Please email me! My preferred email is

I noticed your blog is on Elgg. My blog was there until about a month ago when someone at NECC pointed out that it is inside of a "walled garden." The outside world can see it, but only other people who are members of ESU#13 Elgg can comment on it. There are not many active bloggers in our region! I moved to edublogs and have not looked back since! ESU#13 is also running WordPressMU, but since I wanted a professional blog (in which I might criticize education from time to time) I moved off of our server.

Excited to get to know more about you!
