About Me: I am an elementary teacher working in a multiage classroom. I have a combined class of 3rd and 4th graders and keep them for two years. I am responsible for teaching all aspects of the curriculum. I love to integrate curriculum and value parent participation.

The book is about a woman writer in her fifties. She is having some writers block, but she writes about children who were carriers of the small pox vaccine in an attempt to save the world from smallpox... The children were orphans from spain in the 1700's. The author does an interesting flip from current day to the 1700's. Every other chapter is about her own life... and each alternating chapter is about the trials and tribulations of 26 orphans and their caretaker, travelling the seas...interesting read....interesting subject.
