Happy New Year! I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Washington!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
I teach astronomy and biology at Kimberly High School in Wisconsin. I and my husband are from this area. We moved back here to raise our kids by relatives. I mentioned in an earlier note to you (I know we were so busy that first week - you maybe didn't get to read it) that I used to teach gifted science in an outreach program for the Seattle Public Schools. I taught a couple of times a week at a small Catholic school on Queen Anne hill (I don't remember the name of the school, but it was an old architecturally-beutiful school. We loved it in the Seattle area. Then we lived two years (where I taught school) in Lester, a tiny village of 26 people in the Tacoma watershed (still in King county) up in the Cascade Mountains. We had to take logging roads to get into the village ...45 minutes each way to get "out" onto a real road. Great memories.
We are "friends" from Science Teaching 2.0. This network seems really big. Some of the ideas in the biology group sound intriguing. Which small private school in Seattle? I used to teach in Seattle.
Hi Bekah, nice to meet you online! Welcome from Germany! My focus is on Web 2.0 apps and I´ve created the biggest group on CR 2.0 about digital teaching methods called DigiSkills with now 341 members. Would love if you decide to join.
