Hello, my name is Brad Dishman, and I am going to the instructor for this class. I am original from Vinita, Oklahoma where I grew up and graduated from Vinita High School in 1986. I then went on the college at The University of Oklahoma where I received a Bachlors degree in Elementary Education in May of 1990. I taught 6th grade for two years in Midwest City before moving to the Tulsa area and began teaching in Owasso at Mills Elementary. I have now taught 17 years in the areas of 5th grade and computers. I received a Masters degree in 1997 from The University of Tulsa in the area of Math Science Education. I now currently teach computers for Mills, technology classes for teachers at The Eighth Floor, and technology classes for Tulsa Community College. I have been teaching computer classes for TCC since the summer of 2000.
I love to teach students technology no matter what their age or background. I find teaching to be challenging and very rewarding. I find that I learn as much from my students as they learn from me. I enjoy the constant need to keep updating my skills. There is always something new that I am needing to learn so that I can keep up. I love going to conferences and occasionally getting to present.
I am happily married now for the past 19 years and have a very special daughter that I get the privilege of taking to work with me each day. She is growing up quickly and loves to learn as much as I do.
My favorite hobby is getting out in nature and taking as many pictures as possible. I enjoy a variety of sports especially tennis and biking. My favorite computer program would have to Adobe Photoshop. I love to work and teach it because of its never-ending, open-ended possibilities!
