About Me
Charles Levasseur, born and educated in Edmundston, is fluently bilingual (read, write, speak) in both of NB’s official languages. He is the Atlantic Region: Neil Squire Society’s Certified Assistive Technology Specialist (Assistive Technology Application Certification: California State University, Northridge) and Employ-Ability Program Coordinator. In 2008, he worked with Elections NB as the Project Coordinator for the Disability and Seniors Community for the 2008 Municipal Elections. For the past 6 years, he has taken a hands-on approach to assisting persons with disabilities find employment, and providing one-to-one training using complex assistive technologies both in a classroom setting and in-home training in various locations in New Brunswick. Prior to 2002, he worked in the private sector in the information technology/e-learning industry as a Chief Technology Officer and holds various Microsoft certifications. He has a Diploma from the CCNB-Edmundston, completed 3 years of the Business Administration program at the Université de Moncton, and has recently completed the Online Teacher/Trainer Certificate Program from Conestoga College, Kitchener, ON. Charles is a member of the New Brunswick Career Development Action Group, and a former member of the Project Management Institute of New Brunswick. Charles and his wife founded and manage a New Brunswick-based, volunteer-run adoption agency for retired racing greyhounds. Through this social venture, they actively network its programs and adoptions in all linguistic communities in New Brunswick, and the Maritimes.
