About Me
I am an educated artist teaching Art History and various studio classes while working out of my studio in Friendswood. I am very interested in the visual arts and place a high value on its communicative properties. I also enjoy the energy of being creative and being around creative people. I make art as well as teach.
The environment of this area as well as its people has a huge impact on the types of images I create that really inspire me. I love the shades of green and shapes of our trees. I am fascinated by all of the wildflower shapes. The climate also has a bearing on my images and can be felt through the shapes that I imploy. I am a colorist, but the type of color I use is color that has been assimulated. This color has been processed in the human psyche as a particular feeling or emotion and then chosen to bathe a particular image that I am working on to express an idea. Symbolism as well as autonomy pervade my images.
It's great to hear form you again Darla. I have a great tool that I think that you would find interesting. I introduced it some time ago, but I can't help but wonder how it could support an Art class. The tool is called Voice Threads. http://www.voicethread.com I am going to post some detailed information on my blog that you can access if your interested.
