Hi Darren,
With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
I followed the discussion related to TIMMS, PISA and assessment in general among you, @garystager and @chrislehman on twitter for a while last night. I tuned in late and didn't have a chance to enter the discussion or see how it turned out. It looked fairly intense at times. I taught math/science for years in Alberta, a province that became very adept at using results from a variety of "standardised assessments" for political purposes. I would be curious to see what others experiences have been.
Hi Darren -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers who are interested in sharing and connecting.
3 steps:
(1) Navigate to the Sue Hellman page. Part way down on the left is a Canadian map under My Groups. If you click on that and then look beneath the main banner (right of center) on the group page, you should see + Join this Group. Click and you’ll be in.
(2) Invite me to be a colleague please.
(3) If you add yourself to the map, please include a name or a photo of some sort. 'Anonymous' cannot be distinguished from ‘Unknown Location’ when I try to clean up the false starts. THANKS!!!!
