Hi Gail -- I teach in Surrey (near White Rock) in an alternative high school for students who do not thrive in mainstream schools and I'd love to invite you to come to us. If you give me enough lead time, we might be able to set up something for other teachers to attend as well. Do you offer online workshops? If we move this discussion to email (mshellman@telus.net) then I will probably get back to you faster!! Looking forward to getting in touch soon.
I'm a firm believer that we can all learn new things!!! I just haven't gotten into Second Life (yet)...as Jennifer and I both have said, neither of us have time for our first life, never mind having a second one! However, it seems like there are a lot of very cool PD activities happening on Second Life, so it would be good for me to look into it. Maybe once I get caught up on my marking, housecleaning, course prep, conference prep, and thesis defense!
It is a good site--a few of my students from last year introduced me to it. Unfortunately, I just haven't spent a lot of time using it yet...too busy up until now.
The event you're doing looks cool...I haven't done much (anything) with Second Life yet...let me know how it goes!

It's great to so many Canucks in here in CR 2.0. You might want to join a group called "Canadians Mashup". If you join, please use the Welcome forum at http://www.classroom20.com/group/canadianmashup/forum/topics/welcome-to-canadian-mashup to introduce yourself.
