My background is varied but focuses on science, technology, and education. My student work in science includes a B.S. from Caltech in chemistry, a Ph.D. from Columbia Univ,. and postdoctoral work at Colorado State Univ. culminating in a professorship at Northeastern Univ. I also served as chair of the 3,500-member Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society.
My technology background includes being a principal programmer and software development manager at Digital Equipment Corporation, VP for R&D at Access Technology, and president of my own software contract consulting firm.
In addition to my university teaching experience, I was also the volunteer science club adviser at a large high school in Massachusetts for six years, during which we won five regional titles in the Science Bowl and one national third place. For the last ten years, I've been studying science education in depth and making every effort to contribute substantively to it. My blog and website tell more.
I have a narrowly focused commercial interest and welcome inquiries. That's the last commercial promotion you should see from me on this site.
