I study literature and digital media, especially video games, and I am a lecturer at the University of Texas. I wrote a dissertation about the relationship between postmodern fiction and Gnosticism, followed by a book entitled Quests: Design, Theory, and History in Games and Narratives. I am working with Roger Travis and Michael Abbott to start the Center for Video Games and Human Values, an initiative begun by Roger Travis at the University of Connecticut.

How impressive! Sounds like you really enjoy your work. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on how games can help engage the average student who seems to be so disconnected from school.
