Hi Joanne. I apologize if you're receiving this message multiple times - I am having some issues getting it posted! I've hit "Add Comment" three times now and it doesn't seem to want to post :)
As for discussion boards, were you looking for a free tool or something that you would purchase? Free tools could include a subgroup in Classroom 2.0, sort of like we created for this cohort. You could open it to students only. I also like Google Groups - it's free and can be protected, but some districts may not allow it. Was this the sort of thing you had in mind or something else?
I hope you're well! I love that you're thinking of trying out some discussion boards. Personally I like the discussion board feature in Google Groups, but am not sure if your district would allow it? It is free and can be protected. Classroom 2.0 also has this discussion forum feature which is pretty nice - again it is free and can be open to students if you created a sub-group in Classroom 2.0 like we did for this course. Were you thinking of a free tool or something like Blackboard that you would need to purchase?
It's great to hear from you! The list of Taskstream folios from last year's cohort is available on the main page of our 2SUM08_2 group in the DISCUSSION FORUM. You might have to click "View All" to see all of the discussions (only the three most recent show up on the main page). It is labeled as "Links to the 2007-2008 Cohort Taskstream Folios"
