Hey Jose,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.

Do you mind telling students and your colleagues again?

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jose!

Happy New Year! I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Hawaii!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Jose - I used to live in Hawaii, doing fundraising for The Nature Conservancy. One of your teachers approached me about doing a service learning project. The kids visited our preserves, then created several public service announcements. I, and a few of my colleagues, were invited to Punahou to judge the projects. I was very impressed with what was available to your students and what they were able to do. It helped me discover that I wanted to take a more direct role in education.

Hi Jose! First off, I wanted to thank all of you at Punahou for inspiring me to get into education. It is amazing what you do there! Second, can you give me contact information for your fourth/fifth grade teachers who are really excited about the 1:1 laptop program? I'd love to talk my school into something like that, but I know I'm going to need a lot of background information to do any kind of convincing.
Thanks! --Lindy

Hi Jose,
I am learning Moodle and introducing it as the LMS at a secondary school in New Zealand. Have you seen the "Skoolaborate" project where kids are using Second Life to teach each other languages?
Cheers,
Gavin
