Hi Lizzie. I was wondering if your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. Perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
I did a lot of pre-work last year for the kids. I set up all the links and taught them how to navigate and edit. One of the first things I did with the math students was have them complete the answer to ten questions. This year I am going to teach them how to add links. I learned a lot by looking at other teachers blogs. You can go to my delicious links. Feel free to ask me more questions. You can get my email address from the school's web site on my classroom20 profile. My bookmarks are: del.icio.us/njtechteacher. Look under wikis.
Funny as I always saw the US in the same light. I am finding it interesting to discover the perceptions of so many, in different areas. I am looking forward to hearing more about what you are doing and how the situation in the states is different to Australia.
Somewhat of a dilettante myself, but very interested in this phenomenon to facilitate communication between medical professionals. Trying to learn as much as I can about it so I can make a convincing presentation to my professional society.
Thanks Lizzie - after spending time on both sites, I have a lot better idea of what is involved in starting a wiki. What has prompted your interest in the world of wikis and web 2.0?
