It was a bit depressing to see "Lynley McKernan doesn't have any friends on this social network yet" at the top of the page when I signed up. I suppose I focused on the first part -"Lynley McKernan doesn't have any friends". Right now, about two and a half weeks out from the annual conference, I feel like I haven't time for anything that isn't "school" or "conference", and my main social interactions seem to involve answering email and phone calls from people who need to rearrange their presentations or their conference registrations, and so on.
Still, once the conference is over maybe all those people who have taken to hiding from me, in case I ask them to make a presentation, introduce a presenter or make a vote of thanks at the end of a workshop will be "friendlier" again.
On the bright side, it is shaping up to be a really great conference with a very interesting programme, so if you are in the area (Mandurah - 100km south of Perth, WA ) consider joining us on the 24th and 25th of August for the Educational Computing Assocation's 2007 State Conference. The conference website (linked from www.ecawa.asn.au) is a work in progress.
