About Me
This is my 6th year as an Instructional Technology Specialist with the Wichita Public School District. My passion is working with teachers and principals on effective teaching and learning through instructional technology. I am a former elementary classroom teacher, Title 1 resource teacher, instructional coach and site technology specialist and bring these experiences with me in my current job.

I am a LoTi (Levels of Technology Integration) certified trainer, a SMART Exemplary Educator, a Palm Education Technology Coordinator, SchoolNet Certified Trainer, and a Discovery Education Network member.

I hold a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Newman University and M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology from Wichita State University. I currently teach several technology integration courses at Baker University.

Good evening, Maricia. The SMART Board resources your district offers are a great teaching tool for educators. Thank you for sharing that.

Hi Marcia,

With your work in Instructional Technology in Wichita, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

Good morning, Marcia. I am enjoying my Classroom 2.0 explorations. I just watched a great Elluminate lesson on wikis by Sue Waters. Have a great weekend.

Well I already found a website on here to help my students practice there math skills. I'm pretty excited about that. I think this could be a very useful tool once I really feel comfortable using it. Thanks for letting us in on this wonderful resources.

This site has a lot of interesting ideas. I am not sure all of my colleagues are ready for them. I find my self spending too much time on the communicating part and not enough time on the assignment part.
I hope your trip to Washington D.C. and New York was full of experiences - after all isn't that what life is all about - experiences!

Have a great rest of the summer It is closing in fast. I find myself getting excited about all the new little people who are coming my way soon. I wonder if they are as excited as I am.

Shelby
