I substituted for 15 years and I have taught for 10 years. I graduated with a BSE in English and Social Sciences. I returned to college and now I am teaching Spanish.
At this time, I am experimenting with TPR and TPRS. It is taking me awhile to to develop it and make it work. I find I am constantly tweaking it. This has taken time, but in the end, it should be to the students' advantage.

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
Do you mind telling students and your colleagues again?
Happy New Year! I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Kansas!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Also, we'd like to tell you that we already have the website of our project finished and we’d like to share it with you.
The goal of Bablingua is to offer good audiovisual materials filmed in Hispanic countries that can help teachers to enrich their classes. In the website there are short videos, long videos, vocabulary cards and a blog with free activities, games and new ideas for the foreign language class.
Please, visit us at : www.bablingua.com, and let us know your opinion, comments and ideas you have to improve it.
Welcome to Classroom 2.0. I hope you enjoy perusing this network. I haven't looked at anything here for a while and really need to get back into the swing. Have a great conference!
