About Me: We launched http://www.ChangingThePresent.org. Now we're turning attention to a problem facing education.

ClassWish.org will provide teachers online tools to reach out to parents, alumni, neighbors, local businesses and others in the community to seek funding for particular classroom needs (a microscope, art supplies, computers, etc.). The site uses the gamut of modern techniques: social networking, aggregated purchasing, e-procurement, local sponsorships (the online version of the local car dealer buying an ad in the school paper or yearbook), and the like. Donors are encouraged to give to their children's schools—and if they can afford it, to match their own gift with one to a less affluent school where the parents cannot afford to help.
