Said A.S. Yunus is an Educational Technologist from the School of Education (SoE) at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA). He teaches various courses at Diploma and Undergraduate levels. His research interests include technology integration in teaching and learning in higher learning, use of technology in teaching and learning, technology use in language teaching, Big Data and Learning analytics in education, emerging technologies in teaching and learning such as Flipped classroom, Open Educational Resources (OER) and MOOCs in Kiswahili teaching. Said has previously published various works that include technology integration, Use of LMS and OER in higher education, and the use of social media in higher education. He is a member of the GCRF-funded research project exploring digital education in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda. He has been involved in various projects on ICT in Education such as Science and Technology Higher Education Project (STHEP) funded by the World Bank and Zanzibar Improving Student Prospects (ZISP) under the World Bank (WB) acting as ICT and educational technology team leader. He is currently a work package leader in ICT in Education under the Building Stronger Universities (BSU) funded by DANIDA. He is also a project administrator in the Partnership Enhanced Blended Learning (PEBL) sponsored by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Said is an instructional designer who has developed three blended learning courses from SUZA and uploaded on OER Africa platform: i) IT Teaching Methods ii) Educational Media and Technology and iii) Web Technologies on OER Africa platform which are retrievable on https://www.oerafrica.org/partnership-enhanced-and-blended-learning.... Said has recently joined the team of course developers as a Project Manager under the mentorship of Open Education for a Better World (OE4BW) for 2021.
