Hi Karmyn,
I just saw a post from you were you said "Math certainly is NOT the easiest subject in which to do this!" You were referring to wikis. I'm taking a course where we need to create wikis and I've chosen math. What was I thinking? ha ha. I just wanted you to know that your Crocodile competition caught my attention and looked really interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, that is useful. It does give another dimension to writing poetry because different ways can be exciting and liberating.

About Me
My name is Karmyn Lucescu, and I'm the Studica Skills Specialist. If you haven't already heard of us, you can learn about us here:
http://StudicaSkills.com

We offer a variety of free student competitions in categories such as:
desktop music, scriptwriting, digital art and sketching, video production, comic book design, CAD, robotics... with hundreds of prizes to be won (including monthly random prizes). These competitions are open to students around the world from various age and grade levels, and they are welcome to enter as many competitions as they'd like. Some of the categories are software-specific, but there are some generic ones as well which allow the competitors to use the program of their choice.

There's a breakdown of all the competitions on the main page, and you can check out the current forerunners and all submissions. We know there is a LOT of talent out there, and this is our way of giving back to the education community. There is no commitment to buy or subscribe to any of our products or services, and Studica Skills is the non-profit division of Torcomp Studica, an educational software reseller.

We've made it very easy for teachers to incorporate these competitions into their curricula, so if you teach, or know someone who does, PLEASE pass this information along! We offer free teachers' kits including some literature, posters, fact sheets and some freebies (to keep, or to be used as incentives for the students), so I'll gladly send some out your way!

I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, and certainly if you know of anyone else who might be interested in the Studica Skills competitions, feel free to pass on my contact information or send theirs to me.

Nearing 22,000! Looking good!

WOW! The response so far this season has been phenomenal! This is the first season during which Studica Skills has had a representative working solely on the task of getting the word out there. I have been in my position for just over two months, and we are seeing the impact already! I don't think that 50,000 registrants is unachieveable for season three, and the larger our numbers for this year, the better the prizes from our corporate sponsors for next year! I am absolutely psyched, and…

I just wanted to give a quick shout-out to the teachers with whom I've spoken/emailed, and who have been very receptive to the Studica Skills concept. THANK YOU!

For those who have looked at our website, I'd love to hear your thoughts! My goal is to get the word out worldwide and see our registration numbers exceed 50,000 for the third season. We're currently at 15,000 and we still have over four months to go, so I think this is very feasible!

Nearing the 15000 mark!

It's amazing to see how far the Studica Skills competitions have come in just three seasons. Some of the submissions are from schools that have participated since our inception, and it's really nice to see they're still enthusiastic about it! We're slowly getting the word out, and we have nearly 15000 registrants worldwide so far!

Top Cow comics recently teaming up with Studica Skills was a great boost for us! Not only did it diversify the competitions even more, but it's…
