Good response from Barb, but there is a better solution in sight. With version 4, due out in two weeks, it is possible to maintain several sections within one roster. Each section shares Pages, but can have different calendar events and assignments, discussions, dropbox listings and even gradebooks. :)
Re: your question about setting up one haiku site for two classes with identical content.
Yes, there is a way to manage the grading component ( as well as discussion, polls, drop boxes): Build 3 sites. Before you scream, read on! site A would contain the content, weekly assignments, & the names of ALL students. Site B would contain a discussion board, drop box, polls, quiz tool & roster for one of the classes; Site C would contain a discussion board, drop box, polls, quiz tool & roster for the second class. This way, site A will serve as the entry point with Sites B & C group specific.
Does this make sense?!
I just added a group that I think you might be interested in, “Instructional Technologists.” http://www.classroom20.com/group/instructionaltechnologists I am hoping this group can grow and we will be able to support each other and collaborate so that we can better support our colleagues.
