Hi. Welcome to Classroom 2.0 I am starting a new program at my school called "Beyond the Classroom" and I hope you will be a part of it.  My Goal: connect my students in Brandon, South Dakota, USA  to other students around the world to learn about school and life in other countries. I want to connect with five different places around the world and correspond via my blog to learn about culture and life in our respective places. I teach 6th grade (11-12 year olds) but the subject and age doesn’t matter. I have done this in the past with places like Turkey, Scotland, and Brazil. There are many things we can do with this to make it a very enriching experience. If you are willing to be a part of this, we will talk about the details at that point. My school year starts August 22, 2011.  Visit my blog to learn a little bit about me and my teaching.  http://waterforsixthgrade.blogspot.com

Thank you for your consideration.

Hello Ms. Kaufman. I am a general music teacher in Memphis, TN, and new to Classroom 2.0. I found your page while browsing the members area and wanted to invite you to participate in an online classroom/cultural exchange - your students and/or colleagues in Argentina and my students communicating with each other, sharing their work and developing a global relationship (for lack of a better term). Please let me know if you would like to try this. It has proven to be a successful way for my students to develop their communication skills and strengthen their appreciation for other cultures - nationally and internationally. I have a Voicethread posted on my page if you want to have a look - this would be an easy way for our students to communicate. You can also check out my students' projects on our music web page at http://web.me.com/knrgreene/RMSMusicMediaNetwork/Welcome.html. Hope to hear from you!

Hi Rosa,

I am new to Classroom20 and wanted to introduce myself. I am certified to teach elementary school in New York State. Right now I am working towards my Masters in Instructional Technology.

Are you a teacher in Buenos Aires? What do you do? I am working on a project centered around multiculturalism and cross-cultural understanding. I would love to learn about your culture. How does the school system work? Cultural foods? Traditional clothing? Languages spoken? I hear Argentina is absolutely beautiful.

If you have the time, I would love to learn more about Argentina and your culture.

Thank you,
Tiffani

Hello Rosa!

I've become a new member not too long ago and am very excited about this site. Needless to say as a new member I know no one. May I kindly invite you as a guest to my site (http://ntoond2.ning.com/). Any suggestions or comments you may have on how best to navigate the 2.0 world would be most appreicated.

Also, would you care to share any sayings which are particular to your country on my site? For example, in the US one can say "Waste not, want not" or "Birds of a feather flock together", "A stitch in time saves nine"... and so on.

I'd be most grateful.
Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Hi
I am the principal of a school in Los Angeles , Ca. Many of our students are from Central and South America. We have made some connections with schools across the globe but I have not found any links for schools in Central and south America. While many of the kids speak Spanish they do not always read and write Spanish but I would love to find some connection.
Thanks
