Just a random question maybe someone can take 10 seconds and answer.

I am starting my first 2.0 project, and my 4th grade students will be recording themselves reading poetry. I am going to use Microsoft Photostory to add some images. Is Flickr a safe place to get images? It seems like we could download from their creative commons section. From my own browsing, there doesn't seem to be any content that is inappropriate, but I want to be sure. I don't want to mess up my first…

Finding jobs - Trailblazer or Path Follower?

This is something that I have been thinking about for the past few days - I am passionately invested in learning about how to optimize learning in the classroom. I believe that we can completely change and improve the way that students learn by making some major changes in education - just one of those changes is using some of the new web 2.0 tools that we are all familiar with.

So, as I was searching the internet last weekend, I came across a school that has a job opening in the same… Continue

Before you can walk the walk, you've got to think the thought ...

So I have spent the past few months leaning faster than I have ever learned before. While I have made some very small efforts to implement technology into my classroom in the past, coming across the new 2.0 tools changed my view of technology and learning as a whole. For me, it was important to gather a base of information before jumping into anything in my own classroom (the learning was too engaging to stop ...). I read blogs (thanks Ewan, Will, Chris, and many others), got a feed aggregator,… Continue

I am very excited to join this network. I have been using technology in various ways in my own life for a quite a while, and I cannot wait to get it into my classroom. I only wish that our school was designed in such a way that fostered technology use.

I can't wait to meet more people who are interested in using technologies in learning!

Hi Matt. I was wondering if you have educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Matt,
I also teach Year 4 - in BullCreek Western Australia. I started a blogmeister blog for my class in July and have been amazed at the response from my students. We primarily use the blog as a means to publish their written work so their class mates, parents, granparents can look at heir writing. On the main class page we have photos and stories of things we have been doing in class. My next step will be to podcast or voicethread some of the postings. The whole thing is a huge learning curve for me and I'm learning as I go. I have found classroom 2.0 and other sharing pages etc. to be great for my own learning and any teacher that I have emailed for assistance has been only too willing to give me advice. Do you have a class blog set up? Perhaps we could communicate with your class?
