Something awesome is happening on a new channel in YouTube. Ben Wilkoff has gathered together a few everyday educators who are sharing weekly vlogs about education.
This week we're discussing what education might look like in five years.
We'd love to have you watch and comment.…

I know everyone is ready for that first bright day when our students return to socialize and learn. But here are a few ideas for using Google Apps, including an activity for Veterans Day: a short 150 word essay on the simple topic "Honor All Veterans." This was sponsored by our local VFW last year, but two of my students carried it further, and if you use Google Apps, you might want to try this, or adapt it to another project.
Google Docs is our tool to…

Thanks, Sheri. I am very new to Classroom 2.0 so this helps me think about other ways participating here.
Our school year is off to a great start! Last week was the first week with students. I've already done one In-Service (your help with the Essential Question was the driving force behind it's success because for the first time, they got "why" we need to address digital citizenship). It's a brand new principal and I sing her praises! Next week, our Super has asked that I start training the principals (1 hour per week) on PBL so they can lead their campuses in student engagement. I also have 4 other PDs I'm running on collaboration coaching and will blog in a classroom with a newbie to blogging. I'm super excited for where our district is going, and trying to remind myself to not get overwhelmed. =)
Kind regards,
Tracy
Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
We'd love to have your kids involved. If it's not a good fit for them, maybe you have some colleagues you could pass our info to.
Thanks,
Jack
If you'd like, I'd be happy to send them an encouraging message to get them involved. :]
Has anyone else started Ning for their classes?
