Starting in the fall I will be teaching a class to seniors called, "21st Century Skills". We will be giving each student a laptop (apple of course). The content of the class has not be set yet, but will include 21st Century skills and Web 2.0. I would love input from my colleagues on what these students need to survive in the "real world". What are your thoughts on this topic? Does anyone else do anything like this?

"21st Century Skills". What a great subject.
I set up a course in a secondary school a few years ago called "digital media".
It looks like you are doing some great work.
I look forward to seeing and reading more.

i have just joined Classroom 2.0 and came across your blog. I really wish I could have joined earlier. Let me say you are very lucky to be asked to pioneer such a innovative and much needed class. I would be interested in hearing some of the things you have decided to cover. Have you done much collaboration between schools via the internet? Have you found certain obstacles get in the way, either technology problems, network problems and/or student problems. My school district is in the beginning phases of Web 2.0 and integration into the curriculum. Hearing your thoughts, ideas and hiccups would be wonderful!
Nice to know that you are a mathematics teacher. I would love to learn and share new mathematics teach/learn ideas.
Cheers!
