Main Idea Chart

When we have finished reading a story, we need to be able to know the details listed and the main idea of the story, or what the story is mainly about. One way to help us understand is by making a Main Idea chart. This is what a Main Idea Chart looks like:

Is 'social' networking killing social skills?

During my time in school social media didn't come into my life until college.  I see myself with one foot in the social media generation and one foot out.  I find my relationship to social media very different from my player's who have grown up with social media.

As an educator I find myself trying every and any way to most effectively communicate with my players.…

Maxwell Semana 8

Things to think about

"If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy, functioning families, it makes our job more important."

Entrada 3

My overall thought about technology use in the classroom

Students can use technology as a tool in communicating thoughts, ideas, and questions with their teachers and others.  When using technology as a tool to support communication with others they are playing an important role in the interchange of knowledge. Students actively make choices about how to generate, obtain, manipulate and display information.  Technology allows them to be actively thinking about information, therefore increasing their knowledge on any given topic.…

Teacher first day introduction

I want to use this blog for my future parents of my students. I would like to use this for them to get to know me and if they have questions they can ask through here. I would start by telling them a little introduction about myself. Then I would let them know a little bit about what this year will hold like some activities we would be doing or if any trips have already been made. I think this would be a great sight for the parents to be able to stay in contact with me if they need anything…

Welcome Parents!

I will be your child's teacher for the 2012-2013 school year. It is a great pleasure to have your children in my class. I have heard great things about them and look forward to getting to know each one of them. This year I am trying something different. I will frequently post things on this blog (Classroom 2.0) that include student assignments, lessons, and parties. My goal is to let you know exactly what your child is learning so that we can resolve any confusion that your children may…

My 1st Blog.

I am new to this format and look forward to the possibilities it holds not only for me as a person, but to share ideas with others out there that are either teachers or are working towards that goal.  I look forward to any discussion(s) and honestly hope there are experienced teachers with thoughts and ideas on ways to teach today that were not done in the 1960s and 1970s when I was last in public school.

Semana 5
