Hi! everybody.
This is the one of the most interesting modules in Web 2.0 IB Classroom workshop. It was not only fun but also a good learning experience for me to explore pod casting, voice thread and skype. Research helped me a lot to understand different ways of using it in my classes. I have explored pod cast made by students which helped me in planning next units to…

The educational value of the podcasts is that it can be created from original material by students and teachers or existing audio files can be downloaded for classroom use.Creating a podcast allows students to share learning experiences. Teachers can use the technology to provide additional and revision material to students to download and review at a time that suits them.

Not a fan of podcasting, can very easily become distracted if not have written dialog to follow. Love the notion of Voicthread, however system is so powerful need, to shutdown all other applications just to run the program. Note: the internet isn’t very strong or reliable where I am located.

While aspects of video and photos were incorporated I I found this week to be largely audio based. I really enjoyed learning to create my own podcast and feel that this could be a useful tool for sharing with students and to improve their listening skills. Voicethread is an excellent tools and I can see many uses for it to stimulate conversation in class as well as improving oral language skills. I have experience with Skype but the conference call and recording of calls were new to me. I…

So many of those who used to but no longer use Microsoft Outlook for their email, remember the ability to get notifications when you have something on your calendar or a new email. In our district we have gone to using Google Apps for Education and the question of "how to get notifications" has come up. This blog entry will discuss this ability

I really struggled creating my Google Site; especially the calendar and editing a pre-made template. I eventually had to abandon the pre-made template because I could not figure out how to change the picture of the "teacher" nor how to remove "Mrs. Smith's classroom" from the sidebar.
