lesson plans

I am a first year teacher at a private school in Kansas City, Kansas. My subjects are computer skills and Gym for grades K-8. The gym I can handle but the Computer class has no manuel. I have to come up with lesson plans off the cuff, no book and ages range from K-8. I am looking for help with lesson plans in this age range. Or a good book to help, any direction or starting point, anything would help. Thank you for your help.

Videos, Converting Powerpoints and Web 2.0

What a day - I wanted to put another video on dotsub, but I also wanted to convert a powerpoint to a video. In between getting sidetracked, I downloaded a program (Bytescout PPT to video free preview found on cnet) to convert my PowerPoint on PowerPoint to video, but I was not happy with the results for the particular presentation I had in mind. Why I joined

I'm glad to be part of this network, as I am looking for folks to share ideas and thoughts with. I am an elementary school librarian, trying to figure out the best tools touse for that age group, that will enhance their use of information sources, both electronic and paper-based.

I want to use the Forum section, to see what's up, and to ask my questions.

Dotsub: A Photo Walk to The Maish Cave - N. Israel - a school project

Notes from poolside..

I'm in Bonner Springs kansas at a LaQuinta Inn with my family after the MACE MTI conference, watching my kid swimming in the pool outside. My wonderful wife and I are in the air conditioned lobby but our line of sight is perfect. Well, it's been a while. But, BOY has it been a busy summer! I've finished two of the classes I've been teaching for the college and have two more that finish this week. Paperwork.....gotta love it, right??? I have this week and then part of next in the Teaching and Learning Center for the college and then, I'm off to prepare for the grade school. Interesting. How can it be that myspace is seen as an important feature of current political campaigns in Australia, yet the same politicians endorse the banning or blocking of access to such tools/sites in educational institutions nationwide?

Blogathon for Charity, live 7/28/07

Have any of you visited the web site of Blogathon 2007 at http://www.blogathon.org/ ? More than 500 bloggers have signed up for a 24 hour marithon to raise money for their favorite charities.
