I know this is going to sound like a plug and I suppose it is, but apart from having just registered at the site, I have no connection with them.
At http://dotsub.com members upload videos, which can then have subtitles added to them in other languages.
The subtitles are also created by members of the site. The tool used for doing this is very simple and easy to use.
So if you create videos for education or you would like world students…

This is a tale from Archeology, but I think it says a lot about sexism. In the 1920's, a tomb was discovered in Egypt that contained two mummies of women, one regal and beautiful, the other old and obese. The beautiful mummy was removed and taken to the museum in Cairo; the other was buried in sand and left. In the 1990's, speculation was made that one of these woman might be the missing pharaoh Hatshepsut, a…

I look forward to the time that I can travel across the ocean again to learn more about different cultures and educational perspectives!! London and Barcelona were very inspiring on a variety of different levels. Participating in the London Doctoral Conference and the English Strand of the Barcelona Conference enabled me to refine and enhance my research techniques and enhanced my motivation to continually strive to improve teacher education. I learned much and laughed often!! I miss those…

Though my blog has had a meltdown the last two weeks, I HAVE been blogging Necc 2007 on a site called tumblr, which is very handy for quickly posting things.
IF you want to check it out, or read about some sessions at NECC, check it out at www.technolibrary.tumblr.com.
It's been great getting to meet people in person, get inspired, and meet new people.
We're leaving and heading back to campus with a plan to start a women…

Dean Shareski has an interesting post about summer holidays. As Dean comments
For me though, I don’t get as excited as I once did about June and it’s not just that I haven’t spend 185 days with kids, although that does make a difference, but as I said before, I still
longed for summer vacation even after I left…

Hi everybody! Happy Tuesday! I just published a new widget at my collection of javascript widgets and gadgets over at SchoolhouseWidgets.com. I have so much fun every time I publish one of these, and I would be very curious what members of this ning community think about widgets as a way to share content.
Basically, I am a content-generating machine (it's fun for me, and…

This video inspired some great conversation with some colleagues about education as a whole. This is what we are competing against for "school work" time.

I think it would be great to have a "blogging central" site for NECC--sort of like LeaderTalk where you could go and read a lot of different impressions of the conference, all in one place.
With so many people posting on their own blogs, but all of us at the conference, it's hard to keep up, so it'd be nice to have one spot to post things, read things, keep up with "not miss" sessions.
Idea for next year?
