OpenLearn Netvibes Universe

Well, after a long(ish) pregnancy the OpenLearn Netvibes Universe has finally been born. We’re the first University in Europe to have representation in a Universe (in fact Tom Hadfield’s work on the Harvard Universe is the only other University Universe I’m aware of).

The conference in Atlanta has been great in that I have had the opprotunity to share thinking with amazing minds. The edubloggers are great and the conversations range into territories that are quite compelling. As I talk to educators, I have had my thoughts stretched, challenged and refined.

Mapping 2.0 Sites?

Hi,
I'm interested in working with a 2.o application that will allow me to mark historical and geographical sites on a map, that will provide GPS coordinates, and allow some space for text and possibly a picture. I'd like to be able to save maps, put them onto another website or link to them and to paste them into Word so they can be printed. Can anyone steer to a site that will do all of this?

Blogger Shyness

I'm sitting int he blogger's cafe surrounded by bloggers, some of them famous (the big W.R.) and I'm shy. Now I'm not really a shy person, but I have a hard time breaking in to a group of strangers. And yet many of them are not really strangers to me. And even the famous ones, are just people in real life. We all are right?

Winding Down & Up

We are officially winding down the current school year and I am already getting ready for the next. I have some significant changes this next year, I am moving up and moving out - up to grade 8 as a homeroom teacher and out to another classroom. New curriculums, new administration, new programming and staffing as well.

Ever feel like someone is trying to tell you something? I recently learned about avatars. first day

okay here we go and I do mean we as I hope to speak to teachers everywhere. I am from thepre computer age but I am loving the new technology. It is so much easier than the chisel and a stone tablet. Moses would have loved this---- no need to climb Arat.
