Wikis and blogs

Currently I sifted through the blog discussions and links on this site. It was a little overwhelming, but if I do blogs, it looks like there will be plenty of info and organization. I caught up on the the Beginner 2.0 wiki series with Eluminate and took 3 pages of notes. Wikis are a lot like webpages. Becoming a 21st century teacher

Here goes! This is my first attempt at blogging.

Background first. I have been teaching since 1991. At Easter in 1998 I got the opportunity to come out of the classroom and work with the parents in my area. So for more than 10 years that's what I have been doing and I loved it. Unfortunately, due to the economic downturn, that position has been taken from my schools and I am going back to the classroom.

Not Only Do I Not Know What I am Doing, Neither Does Anyone

TIME magazine just published this story called Morning the Death of Handwriting. It made me realize that the more deeply I think about my job as a teacher, the more acutley aware I become that I really can't say for sure that I am doing the right thing -- or teaching the right things -- in my classroom.
