FaceBook and it's security

Thinking of teaching Facebook to my Grade 10 students in my Information Technology class this coming year. It's not a "if you can't beat them, join them" idea. It's more of I need to teach them the safety of the Internet and with Facebook always being used (inside school and outside if we're all truthful about this), then we need to think about teaching the students about the new privacy setting that been created on it.

Who should be held accountable for students breeching Internet safety measures on school-issued laptops? The parent or the school?

This was a recent issue brought up by a mother located in Fullerton, California, who discovered her daughter was speaking to an online stranger and was able to access pornographic websites on a school-issued laptop by connecting to their neighbour's wireless network. The mother feels that the school did not install adequate Internet safety software.

Thoughts on on-line assessment

I have been doing lots of research on on-line teaching and learning recently.
