Short Story on The Future of Holographic Teaching Technologies for the Classrom

Stan was a high-school French teacher, he liked to teach, and he was good at it, he'd better be after nearly 15-years. Thankfully, he'd been a teacher that long, as even teachers with 10-12 year tenure had been laid off recently with all the budget cuts, scary stuff. Luckily, he was still working, because he had a daughter who'd cost him a pretty penny in the next 4-6 years. Yes, he enjoyed the world of education, but he also liked being a father, but was…

We Need Solid Mathematical Writers to Promote Math for Our Nation's Future

Everyone in industry, research, and scientific research seems to realize that we have a severe shortage of quality math students coming up through college. And the kids themselves in K-12, specifically in High School tend to realize that math is not their strong suit, but why I ask? It appears to me that the kids are not applying themselves correctly to learn mathematics, and there are not enough solid math teachers teaching math the most efficient way.

By Lance Winslow

This is something I believe more people need to realize:

Influenza N1H1 is a deadly problem for humanity and the human race, and there are many things that people do not realize. For instance N1H1 is known to come in waves, and often it comes forth in multiple waves with in 18-months to two years, where the first two-waves of a new strain is not so deadly, and although noticed, does not wreak havoc on the… Continue

We Must Work on Reading, Writing, and Math - But Let's Not Forget Fitness in Our Schools

Indeed, I am unaware of your age, but I bet when you were in school you remember participating in the Presidential Fitness Program. In fact, I remember doing this at my school, and I remember that I was able to do more sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, and "sidesteps across a line" in the allotted time then any of… Continue

Are Computer Games and Simulation Going to Revolutionize Our Educational Future - By Lance Winslow

By Lance Winslow

Is the video gaming entertainment industry evolving into a more serious version, or has it come to a fork in the road where one species splits off from another. I am speaking of where entertainment becomes "entercation" or "edutainment" and the technology is being used for training, fun, entertainment, and educational simulation. We all know that pilots train in simulators much of the time, and have seen computer… Continue

By Lance Winslow

You know those cute little characters you pick to represent you on Internet forums and Blogs, well imagine a dynamic Avatar that works with speech recognition software and coverts it to sign language? A deaf person could attend Professor Lectures, Speeches or listen in on a group discussion without having to read lips. How about a Text to sign language Avatar that would read a book to a deaf person or an… Continue

By Lance Winslow

As eGovernment IT initiatives link Federal, State and Local Governments the systems will grow. One of the main objectives of a State Government is to make sure that education is taken care of, thus any future net-centric government IT initiatives must include education at the local level and perhaps allow for standardization of some material into bite size educational 3D Virtual Reality clips available to all… Continue

Many people spend hours watching and learning on Television. What a great teaching tool it can be. Maybe in the future we can use this platform with the technology upgrades along the way to help propel our teaching endeavors.

Online eLearning Education and Children's Self-esteem Issues - By Lance Winslow

By Lance Winslow

There simply is not enough information available on the synergies or detriments that online eLearning will have on our children psyche. Especially limited are issues of the children's "self-esteem" and self-confidence building using these eLearning educational systems. When the Online Think Tank recently brought this subject up at a small meeting many diverse opinions emerged.

Below are some of my… Continue

The Branding of a School by Lance Winslow

When it comes to education and parent piece of mind image may mean more than you think. Having happy and satisfied parents sure beats having obstinate and hostile ones. Anyone who has been involved in education for any long period of time knows very well how important it is to have the children and parents onboard with the school and staff.

This is where a little bit of solid branding will go a long way to helping build the… Continue
