cosecant arguments; not like you think the other argument.

for csc(2n+1) ; the "2n + 1" is considered the argument. The argument I am referring to in the title is the age old battle between what should you know and what should you be able to get, look up, or derive when needed.

The battle rages on. Here is my update to the JS Maths Wiki that was inspired by one such argument (very civil) that I participated in at a holiday party for the staff at our school. Here is… Continue

blogs, blogs, and more blogs

I've had the students create their blogs on the schools intranet worpressMU installation. So far I've got 25 of 60 blogs set up. Their were/are some minor problems, but I will get them all a blog eventually.

I had student reactions ranging from this is very cool ... all the way to you can't make us do this. It is math class and some of them are excited about reading and blogging and some not so much.

Reading; The Last Gigabyte

Dear Reader:

If you are reading this then you know how to read! This is a project I built in conjunction with my Librarian and an English Teacher.

I have been "forcing" my mathematics students to read, you know like books and stuff. My librarian has inspired me; I just:

* go to the schools library web page

* log in

* search for books

* add the ones I like to my personal list

* and check out 20 books at a time for one month

* the books… Continue
