I just read the blog from Francisco about filtering, and I immediately thought of filtering in the classroom. I am often torn between filtering for my 4th graders or not. I just finished reading the first 3 chapters of our book, and I am left feeling blown away by the amount of connections we can have with people all around the world due to technology today. You kind of take it for granted when you use various social media resources daily, but when you sit down and think about it, it's pretty amazing!

I have never heard of a PLN before today! When I started to read about them, I immediately thought, 'oh no, not another Moodle page or Blackboard posting!!!' ugh. I just finished my masters in educational technology, and I have about had it with posting things for the sake of posting as an assignment. (I guess that's what this is, but hopefully it will become more than that!!) Then of course comes the repsponse to others, which normally ends up being a waste of time.
