Hi,
I'm interested in working with a 2.o application that will allow me to mark historical and geographical sites on a map, that will provide GPS coordinates, and allow some space for text and possibly a picture. I'd like to be able to save maps, put them onto another website or link to them and to paste them into Word so they can be printed. Can anyone steer to a site that will do all of this?
Thanks,
Richard

Hi,
I'm looking for other Elementary school classroom teachers who use or would like to use Web 2.0 applications in their classrooms. Maybe we can hook up, make each other "friends" and have more focused discussions about our specialized interests and concerns.

Hi,
First of all I'd like to thank so many people for asking to be added as friends. I'm totally new to this stuff though. I don't know what the purpose of friends is or why someone would request to be added as a friend or what the purpose of the friend's function of blogs is. Would anyone mind explaining? I'll invite you out for a virtual beer.
Thanks,
Richard

I have an idea to have fourth graders do book reports on-line. I have little experience with 2.O stuff and would like some input about which would be a more appropriate format: a wiki, in which kids would change the book report about a book they've read; or a blog, in which kids would add their comments to the book reports of other students. What do you think? Or maybe you have a completely different suggestion?
Thanks,
Richard

I've never used a blog or any on-line kind of journal and have never really gotten what the point of them is. I'm testing this out just to see if it will give me any ideas for what I might actually use it for.
