4 Steps to make your profile pic look really professional

When I first added logos to my profile picture, I just simply did it in Preview on a mac. It was effortless. Once people saw my profile sporting my nifty badges to show off my accomplishments, everyone wanted to know how to do this and I wanted to help. Since not everyone has a Mac I put together these handy directions to use on any device. I used Lunapic, a free online photo editor.

Step 1:  Upload your photo into an image program.

Step 2: Go to effects and choose blend two images, then upload the second image. You can add a logo or whatever else your little heart desires. Just grab photos from wherever.

Step 3: The second image sits on top of your photo and you can move it around or resize it all you want.

At that point you can add another image, so you’re not limited to one logo. Just choose blend two images again, and you’re back in business.

Step 4:  After you’re happy with everything, save the file. Voila, you’re branded! Here’s what my finished profile picture looks like on Twitter and LinkedIn.

LunaPic is free, so keep that in mind if it starts getting annoying. It’s not the most intuitive piece of software in the world, but for the price, it’s pretty good.

So stop reading this and go play with it. You too can turn your profile picture into a mini resume. A picture can say a thousand words and a branded one can help you make sure they’re the right ones for your image.
