For this assignment, I had to research Virtual Reality (VR) based activities in the classroom. Since I was "for" the use of it because I think it can be very effective and engaging in the classroom, I had to research "against" using it. I found it challenging to research the "other side" because there is so much information about how to use it in the classroom. I feel that all the reasons not to use VR were the same as using technology in general such as: cost, support, less human interaction, hardware or software difficulties, training, etc. At first I thought cost was going to be the major issue because I thought that each student needed the expensive goggles to make VR work. I learned that VR doesn't require the goggles. I also learned that Google invented a disposable cardboard google that uses a smartphone for a similar experience. I think that each day there are new technological advances that can be applied to the classroom. Therefore my thoughts have not changed after my research.
