Key points to variations of the Edusim IWB environment

In response to some much appreciated feeback I have been given:

The Edusim environment is more of a concept than it is a software I
suppose (I have received comments/questions stating such) so I would say that is correct. So I suppose a new paradigm to the classrom IWB system would be an accurate statement.

Our implementation is built on Croquet which offers TPainter for
the student (and teacher) to quickly and easily add to the environment - so that is one of the key points. But below are other points that are key to any other Edusim environment others may be wanting to explore.

(1) 3D Direct manipulation on the classroom IWB (LCD, Front, or Rear projection systems).

(2) Haptics - the touch of the surface is haptic in nature, but
better haptics would be a great added features (vibration of glove used to manipulation objects for a quick example).

(3) Multi-user that would allow multiple avatar (boards) to interact with the lesson/objects.

(4) Sharing of classroom lessons - a common directory (with meta

data to describe the teachers created lessons) is important.

(5) Quickly and easily adding to the environment by the
student/teacher - which with TPainter and the ease of Drag & drop features of Croquet, It will be hard for another Edusim implementation to be more intuitive and easy.

So another Edusim implementation is feasible (perhaps with better
graphics etc.) - but would be hard to top the Croquet implementation given the 5 broader points (namely the ease of adding to the environment which is hugely importing I have found)!

Hope you found these observation helpful !
