Math-- Week of February 11-15

I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate all of the students in math class for their success in math last week! After a lot of hard work, we finally mastered adding and subtracting fractions. This week, we are ready to move on to multiplication of fractions.

As with addition and subtraction, some of you may need a refresher course on how to multiply fractions, in order to assist your children with homework this week. Here is a helpful website: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/fraction3.htm

Many of the students are having a hard time adjusting to our new "no calculator" policy. Please be sure to encourage them and remind them that they will have a deeper understanding of math if they are not dependant on the calculator at all times.
