Going to China

I cannot believe that in 2 days we will be leaving to go on our mission trip to China!!! I am in the process of packing and making sure that my bags do not go over the weight limit.

The flight to Chicago was great. In Chicago we had to wait for 1hour on the landing pad before we could take off. When we arrived in Shanghai we needed to transfer to another airport (1 hour away). Our travel agent had someone waiting for us with a mini-van. In the pouring rain, they took us to the other airport. The highways and roads were under water. Inspite of all the rain we made it to the airport in the nick of time (2- 3 hours later) to get on the plane. At that point we found out that out plane to ZhengZhou (pronounced JUNGJOE) was delayed by 3 hours thanks to the rain. We finally made it to our final destination by 1:00 AM.
At the gate there were people waiting to greet us from the school and they loaded us up with our bags into a tour bus to take us to the hotel. My room is great, I will attach pictures at a later moment. Now I am wanting to get some sleep! I am behing on my sleep by days and hours!
I have 2 double beds in my room, a TV, an A/C that cools quietly, a computer with internet access (put in by the school for us), a huge container of drinkable water that can be heated for tea or just cold. There is a small area to hang our clothes and a wonder bathroom with a bright yellow floor and a huge shower.
Families from the school also made sure that we had more than we possibly needed. Jannice was give a suite so we will have a small place to meet as well as to eat snacks as a team. They also placed a small fridge full of western type foods for all of us to eat whenever hungry. I was amazed that they also provided us with china and non-disposable plates and mugs for us to feel at home. These wonderful families have gone way out of their way.
The fun thing is that we are only 3 blocks from the school where we will be working starting Monday. Tomorrow the administrator of the school and their families have invited all of us (6) out for a special meal.
I am in disbelief of everything they have done for us!
Sorry guys, but I need to go to bed.
I am glad that we are here safe and sound!
