Well, we've got approximately 10 days of school left. I am one of the lucky few who will have a few extra hours of time since my seniors have left the building. I plan to use that time to consolidate my resources and downsize from 2 classrooms to 1. I don't have to float classrooms anymore! I will be firmly ensconced in the Classroom of Tomorrow for all of my classes next year. What a relief. I will be teaching a new curriculum to the seniors next year and plan to use a few of those hours collaborating with the veteran teacher for that class. I will definitely miss my cohort and grant partner as she goes "downtown" to become a peer consultant. At times I wish I was leaving too. I am preparing for next year with a measure of dread given the current make up of our adminstration team. We are losing the major support in administration due to a mandated reassignment. I just need to keep my eye on the prize -- a new opportunity to build 21st cenetury skills in a whole new set of students! The blog will be in place much earlier next year as will the hyperlinked narrative activity.

This summer I will be working on the textbook project with the South Central Kansas Writing Project which will implement the tall tale unit that my students will complete in the next 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see the teacher's response to that lesson plan and the Civil War lesson plan. That will be a project to pique my interest this summer.
