Hi All, I've added some music to my page. It's by highschoolers. The first is my daughter, singing a song she composed. She's playing guitar. The other songs are from Chelsea House Orchestra, a fiddling group. Both of my kids are in CHO. The instructor's name is Jed Fritzemeier, and he's one of the most gifted teachers I know. He has this group traveling all over the place, entertaining community groups. You should hear the people exclaim, as they hear these traditional Gaelic songs from "the old country"!

Thanks, Skip--
Think of the high school students Jed has taught going out into the schools and community and bringing the gift of music by playing and then encouraging the younger kids to come play and learn. Many of his students become teachers. Jed is constantly bringing students into the fold. He has a disproportionately large numbers of musicians in his orchestras (relative to the size of the school district), and his magnetic pull is emulated by his students. He's got something good going... music can make a big difference in the world.
Thanks for your kind comments about my daughter.

Hi Connie, I listened to two of the music clips again this morning. This reminds me of a music teacher in Newfoundland named Andrew Mercer. He has been teaching music via web 2.0 tools with some amazing results.
Here is a link to a presentation on YouTube that describes Andrew Mercer's work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX94ws03o3o
He has posted some performances by his music students.
Now I have "Lucky to Know You" rolling around in my head. Great song! :) Thanks!
