CMS is already taken, I think, for content or consumer management system. Has something to do with businesses organizing their information for the web.

On the CMS issue--I'm just looking for easy ways to tag the information in CR2.0, so I think we are OK. There is a larger question of tagging standards in the general blogosphere, and I think that is a good discussion to be having, but that may take a while and be more complicated than we need for right now. The tags in CR 2.0 are just for convenience in organizing here.

I sent you a message to add "gifted" to the categories. Thnaks N.

Steve, I'd suggest the addition of a subject area tag for content in 21st Century Skills and project based learning. Thanks for leading this valuable discussion

What about already existing tags, such as libraries already use in their cataloguing (I know its very broad, but they already have a standardised taxonomy for knowledge). If that's adopted, then voila, CR2 is backward compatible with existing knowledge repostories, and existing knowledge repositories know how to index CR2 and any others wanting to use global tags.

Ian: Can you give me more information about that?

In LCC or Dewey or whatever, there is a huge range of descriptors for cataloguing; if there is an online list of these, they could be used here, and links be made happily between tagged blogs and standard library catalogues, so instead of reinventing the wheel, or creating a railway with a new gauge, tagging can tie in with broad existing knowledge networks. (I suspect this could/would/should tie in with the Library 2.0 discourse (see Mike Habib et al.))

Ian:

Let's make a connection there. This is a busy week for me, but could we set up some time to talk by phone next week or the week after? Is this conversation going on in Library 2.0 (either the Ning network or somewhere else), and should we ask Mike if he'd be a part of it?

I'm just an Australian newcomer, and not aware that this conversation has any existence beyond here - I don't know Mike beyond his graphics and Masters' thesis - so can connect, but 'phones across the sea' are still problematic!

OK, let me do it. I've talked with him before. I'll touch base with you next week some time. Cheers.
