From the Utube site:
In a world where people are often divided by borders, differences and conflict, it's easy to lose sight of what we all have in common. Pangea seeks to overcome that -- to help people see themselves in others -- through the power of film.
In virtually every culture, movies hold an extraordinary power to inspire human emotion, from sadness and fear to laughter and hope. They connect us powerfully to the characters on screen and enable us to see the world through their eyes. At one time or another, no matter where we live or what language we speak, nearly all of us have experienced that magical transformation.
Pangea Day, on May 10, 2008, will catalyze that potential on a global scale -- a simultaneous screening to millions of people around the world of powerful human stories from many different countries and cultures. It will be a day of celebrating the incredible breadth of human culture, but even more importantly, revealing how much we have on common. http://www.pangeaday.org/
